* Self-Build:
Gordon Melrose Building Design specialises in all aspects of house building offering a complete service from initial survey and design, to detailed drawings, tender documents and project management. 
Gordon believes that standard house designs should be avoided, and that as each site has its own individual qualities, then the new house should be individually designed to make best use of these, and take advantage of ground levels, best views, sun orientation, access points etc. This does not necessarily need to involve additional building costs. The practice has worked successfully using this philosophy with many self-build clients.
For self-build clients, a full supervision service is available with a Certificate of Inspection for Bank or Building Society purposes.

The practice avoids the use of standard house designs, as it believes each house merits an individual design to suit the characteristics of the site, the design brief, and the clients' personal needs. 

** Energy:
Computerised SAP & U-Value Calculations can be provided for new housing projects to demonstrate compliance with the Building Regulations

CAD Technology:
All drawing work is carried out using the latest Computer Aided Design facilities. If required, full computerized 3D visualisation and walk-through animated presentations can be produced.
